Morality and Religion November 18, 2011 Many sight equate religious belief with chaste behavior; some even trust that moral philosophy stems from religion. As children we are taught in Sunday trail and Hebraic school that if you do non follow these set of laws or rules of religion, something will happen, some sort of punishment. It is a tactic of fear, the suck in that there is punishment for non doing what g-d asks of. In order for this to truly be true, we would all have to cerebrate in religion. Since everyone does not believe in a religion and pietism religiously lives in everyone religion is clearly not necessary for faith. The unfitness for humans to understand and agree on universal piety is not an issue of religion, rather differences in self-interest. Morality comes from the Latin word moralitas, meaning proper behavior. What or who determines what is proper or not? This is self-interest, if making a choice or habit based on wh ether you believe and feel something is moral is what devotion is. Everyone makes his or her own personal opinion on what they believe is moral. This proper behavior stems from the idea of societal acceptance, how you will be viewed or your reputation.

In modern day society we light upon things as proper or improper and good or bad behavior. If you honestly believe something is acceptable and you will do it, this becomes your set of morals. Morality plays a big role in society; it determines how well you follow rule and laws. Typically in a society you expect everyone to do their part and evoke by the laws. Everyone should behave and also control their families.
